The journey up to Bartley was done in driving rain and to some degree the thought of the game being called off. Luckily for us the rain had stopped and the sun had come out as Pilgrims took to the field.Harry and new boy Barney Gritt opened the bowling and after thier spell Bartley scored 51 runs for the loss of two wickets, one wicket to Harry (6-0-22-1) and a run out whilst Barney's figures were 6-3-19-0.Nick and Lee came on to bowl and kept Bartley at bay taking 2 wickets one to Lee (8-3-34-1) again a run out and Nicks figures 8-0-32-0 and Barley were on 110-4.Simon and Paul H were next in the attack and 11 overs later had Bartley all out for 172, Simon 6-1-39-2 and Paul H best figures of the day 5.1-0-22-4. M.Strickland held the Bartley innings together with a fine 57 not out. After another fine tea Pilgrims went out to chase down the total with Matty and Craig opening the batting.Runs were soon coming from the bat as Matt and Craig scored at a rate of 5 per over before Matt(26) was first wicket down. Simon joined Craig at the crease and soon got in his stride scoring freely before Craig (17) got caught with the score on 50. Harry joined Simon at the crease and soon pushed the score along to 99 before Harry (9) got bowled. With Simon scoring with some hefty blows pilgrims score soon rattled along and in no time Pilgrims were 150 before Simon(66) was eventually stumped.Barney(17) pushed the score along whilst on the way running out young Conrad Carkeet. A couple of wickets later Pilgrims passed Bartleys score of 172 and gain a win by 3 wickets.Again thanks to all the support we got including support from Paul Rendell's Auntie and Uncle who had been over from Canada for a few weeks to attend Pauls wedding to Karen and whilst here came to support us for a few games of cricket. Again thanks to Chrissy + Malc for scoring. Next is our tour of Sussex so see you all next Sunday.
